Signed with a Developer ID certificate; Apple notarization is still pending. Open the disk image, drag the app to Applications, then right-click it and choose Open the first time (or allow it in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Open Anyway). After that it opens normally.

Honest status. Online play has been verified end to end on an Intel Mac and on an Apple Silicon Mac. Known issue: on Apple Silicon the game window can freeze on the score screen after a match; this is being investigated. Please report what you find.

CommandCenter walks through each stage in order and shows what it is doing. If something breaks, Repair is built in.
Confirms your Mac is ready before anything is installed.
Sets up the bundled Wine 11 runtime that runs the Windows game, using Rosetta on Apple Silicon.
Sign in with the Steam account that owns the game. Credentials go only to the local SteamCMD process.
Valve’s SteamCMD fetches your own copy of the original game files.
Downloads the verified client from the official Generals Online CDN. Then launch.

Where everything comes from
The disk image contains CommandCenter itself. It does not contain or redistribute any game data, and none of the archives below are inside the DMG. Everything is fetched at install time from its original source.

No. It does not contain or redistribute any game data. The original Zero Hour files are downloaded by Valve’s SteamCMD with your own Steam account, so you need to own the game on Steam.
They go only to the local SteamCMD process on your Mac and are never saved.
The app is universal and uses Rosetta on Apple Silicon to run the Windows game. Online play has been verified end to end on an Intel Mac and on an Apple Silicon Mac. A freeze on the score screen after a match has been seen on Apple Silicon and is being investigated. CommandCenter installs Rosetta 2 for you if it is missing.
Through a bundled Wine 11 runtime, built from CodeWeavers’ published CrossOver 26.0 source (LGPL). The full license text is in the app’s LICENSES.md.
